GSM Cellular Backup Module
Thieves
can cut the phone line outside the building to disable the alarm system
and then
break in to the premise. Your alarm system relies on the phone line to
transmit
signals to the central monitoring station. Without the phone line, the
monitoring station is unable to know
that anything is wrong at all. Alarm panels only send signals if there
is an alarm or a trouble. If everything is OK, the panel doesn't send
anything. When no signals come in, the monitoring station assumes that
everything is OK.
The
only way to protect yourself against line cut, is to add a GSM module to your
existing alarm system. With a GSM module, if your phone line is cut, the module
takes over from the phone line and continues to transmit all signals normally
using GSM network (digital cellular network). GSM modules are designed to work with existing
alarm systems.
